Sometimes we get so distracted by what we want that we forget why we are here; and therefore, we must allow God to periodically refocus us upon our mission. Children of God have been given a Divine mission: To Glorify God. God CREATED us for HIS glory: “Fear not, for I am with you…everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” (Isa. 43:5a,7) By His Son’s precious life, He CONSECRATED us for HIS glory: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” (1 Cor.6:19-20) That price by which He purchased our freedom merits our attention and dedication—and—believe it or not, we are most free when our lives glorify the One we were created to glorify! We were designed to bring God glory, just as a car is designed to drive on land and not in the ocean. Yesterday, I realized that I had slowly become distracted from my mission and so I shut my office door, put the DND on the phone and asked God to help me define a plan to accomplish the mission to glorify Him. You see, If we do not define our mission or lay out a plan to accomplish it, then we are easily waylaid by distraction and confusion. That’s where I’ve been. Granted, most plans change based upon the obstacles which arise to thwart the mission; however, the unchanging mission is our standard to evaluate every plan of action: Does each planned action for today measure up to the mission? Of course, constant communication with Our Commander ensures that we have the Intel to properly and continuously adjust the plan! The mission should be unwavering stamped in our mind and everything we do should be measured by whether it brings us closer to accomplishing it! Inconsistent actions and thoughts distract us, delude us or may jeopardize the entire mission! With our mission solidly affixed in our mind, throughout the day we may easily ask ourselves whether each planned activity furthers the Divine purpose: To Glorify God! Living focused upon His Divine mission gives us a purpose-filled and joyful life!
