Do we spend more time “checking in” socially than we do “checking in” with God? The days when I choose to constantly “check in” with God, the power of His Spirit flows through me in mind-blowing proportions. I don’t attain any benefit even close to that proportion from social media, emails, texts or–even face-to-face time with someone I love dearly! That’s because there is no one like God! After Moses had experienced the power of God as He defeated the mighty Egyptians and conquered the kings of the promised land—He said:“O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours?” (Deut. ‭3:24‬) The experience of God’s power does NOT happen if we are in a casual relationship with Him. God is intense in His love, immense in His strength and immeasurable in His wisdom and the pursuit of Him is the experience of a lifetime! I have seen Him work miracles and the greatest miracle has been the way He’s changed my heart. One of the greatest and most humbling miracles we will EVER see is allowing God to change our heart and making it more like Him. When He changes our heart and we completely turn it towards Him, His life-giving Spirit flows freely through us and others begin to see Him in us. He is the crowning glory of our existence! If we long for this experience with God–then we must begin to take stock of our time: How much of it is spent PURSUING God? When God’s presence is the FIRST longing of our day, we gain His perspective and then, the day is full of the adventure of His miracles! Time with God awakens our deep longing for Him which has been so long suppressed by the delusion of our own sin and, of Him–we discover: “There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might.” (Jeremiah‬ ‭10:6‬)
