When we walk close with God, then the unexpected – –good or bad – – can always simply become our next great adventure in glorifying God. A natural result of walking close to God is that we fall in love with Him and–we also we realize that the worst thing that can possibly happen to us is to NOT be close to Him. The more we fall in love with Him, the more we fall in love with loving others. The more we fill ourselves with Him, the less we have any expectations from others. He NEVER disappoints us because He fills us with the satisfaction of living in the Divine Destiny which He planned for us when He carefully designed us! When we are close to Him, our circumstances do not define our joy because He is our joy and He NEVER changes. In a turn of recent events, God has proven His faithfulness to me in situations which would have derailed me if I been far from Him. He has even used a health crises to give me opportunities to share Him with those I would have not encountered but for my need to seek help. He has opened my eyes to see that trouble should not wasted upon seeking sympathy for myself, being angry or hurt–rather it is a GREAT opportunity to give Him glory! Feeling sorry for myself is a complete waste of time and opportunity! I serve the God of heaven and this frail, physical shell is not worth forfeiting ANY opportunity to glorify my loving Father. God didn’t take away the Apostle Paul’s weakness or trouble; instead, He gave Paul an opportunity to experience His greatness. God said to Paul: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” And Paul replied: “I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2 Cor. 12:9) When God does not REMOVE our weakness or trouble, He is allowing us to KEEP a great opportunity to glorify Him! Trouble lasts only a short lifetime, but God’s glory lasts forever!
