When we learn to see ourselves with the vision and potential which God sees in us, He also enlightens us to see it in others; and then—we learn to encourage others to become ALL that they can be for His glory. An architect can look at rough stones and sand in a desert and envision a beautiful mecca. God doesn’t just see our sin and failure; He sees the beauty of one created in His Image: His sacrifice is proof of His belief. Do we believe in others the way God believes in us? God sees incredible potential in us! He saw us as we were—dead in our sins—but gave His Son so we could become all He envisioned. He saw past our sinful heart and saw our potential for goodness which He created in us. “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.” ‭‭(Eph.‬ ‭2:1-5) To become ALL that God has imagined for us, we must yield to Him. As we yield to Him, we become more like Him and then we gain the ability to see the potential which He created in others. Knowing God changes our vision. Therefore, when we look at a fellow sinner–sure, we see their sin–but we ALSO see the potential for goodness in them because we recognize the image of God after which EACH man is created. God teaches us to communicate the truth about the consequences of sin with His love– and show them the glorious hope they have in Him. God created EACH of us for a glorious purpose! “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Eph. ‭2:10) Pursue God and catch His amazing vision–for us—and for others!
