God has so much more for us than what we’ve chosen, if what we’ve chosen is what WE can SEE is the safest and most secure way to live. There is nothing more exhilarating than living God’s adventure for our life–completely dependent upon His miracles. We learn to stretch our faith to limitations we had no idea even existed. When living by faith, we learn not to worry much about the future because worrying may cause us to miss something really exciting in the present. Living by faith, we know that we are walking upon the waters of impossible—and that we will sink–if we lose faith. It makes our faith precious! The more we walk upon the waters of impossible, the more we want to live in the incredible freedom of faith. Faith in God defies the limitations of human reasoning and makes impossibilities–possible! Our unbelief in Him is our greatest limitation upon what we can accomplish. Jesus said: “Everything is possible for one who believes.”(Mark 9:23b) If our lives are lived planning our day and future based upon only what is possible; we are casting aside the great adventure of faith planned for us by God. Today, we should take stock of our lives so as not to miss God’s grand adventure! How much of what we’ve done over the last year can we attribute to being an “impossible” accomplishment? In other words, it would NOT have happened except by the power of God? We should measure our accomplishments by the “walking on water” standard in order to see if we are REALLY living in the adventure of faith. If we saw someone walk across the ocean, we would KNOW it was a miracle. Can we point to miracles in our lives or is our life a series of boring, self-earned accomplishments? Jesus taught us: ”[I]f you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matt. 17:20) When we live by faith, the evidence of God’s Presence in our lives is as undeniable as a mountain which has been moved!
