At the beginning of each day, when we purpose to renew our mind and heart in the Presence of God—then–we are able to discern and live His will. Hearing His Spirit speak His will to our heart is not some mystical whispering or thundering revelation; rather, it is the kindred language we learn by dwelling in His Presence as our heart is conformed to His. One of most revealing scriptures about how to KNOW God’s will is in the Book of Romans: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom. 12:1-2) How do we “prove” the perfect will of God? We must KNOW it and then–we can LIVE it! We can neither know or live it unless we are transformed by the renewing of our mind. Our mind can’t be transformed unless we turn from the ways of the world. We cannot love the things of the world AND love Him because we can’t serve two masters. Remember–the world hated Jesus. We shouldn’t seek to be loved and accepted by the world who hated the One Who loves us. When we begin to forsake the pursuits of the world—which will pass away anyway—and rather, wake up every morning determined to pursue the will of God—we find He transforms us. We no longer want the things we wanted before—especially if they are things which we loved more than we love Him. You see, if our life has been driven by OUR goals and dreams—we’ve loved those things MORE than we’ve loved God. However, when we allow Him to transform our minds, He gives us BIGGER and BETTER goals. They are eternal. Sadly, if we won’t allow Him to transform our mind, we will never see the magnificent, eternal goals He has for us because our mind will remain deceived by the world which hates The Holy God Who loves us. When we become His children, He has a Divine plan mapped out for each of us. We find it by allowing Him to transform our mind and heart. God’s way is the best because He loves us the most.
