One of the New Year’s goals God has given me is to LIVE the way that makes me feel most ALIVE! One of the adages God gave me last year was: “If the battle makes us feel most alive then we shouldn’t spend most of our lives on the sidelines.” We haven’t received the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit of the Word so that we can sit around and become more comfortable on the couch of this present world. This world is NOT our home! We can work our entire life trying to make it our home, but we will never be satisfied because when God saved us, He gave us a HEAVENLY home. We have been left upon this earth for an Almighty purpose! When we LIVE in that purpose, is when we really learn to LIVE! We were born again to be mighty warriors for The Heavenly King–not people who live for their own glory or purpose! When we finally begin to LIVE in our Divine Purpose, we feel more alive than we’ve EVER felt living for any other purpose because then our strength and purpose come from God. Ephesians says: “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but…against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Eph. 6:10-17) We are called by God to bring the Gospel of peace to humanity, but to do it, we must be at WAR with evil—not in bed with it. No matter what stage of earthly life we’re in—we are not excused from duty until the day we cross into heaven’s gates and lay down our sword at the feet of the Mightiest Warrior Who conquered hell and the grave so that we could LIVE!
