God gives favor upon and delights in those who seek His wisdom. It is hard to fathom that the Creator of everything would ever DELIGHT—much less BLESS–frail and sinful mankind. He is so great and we are so small. He is so perfect and we are so imperfect. We reject and trample upon His love; yet—even BEFORE we become His children—He loves us and draws us to Himself. Even AFTER we become His children we fail Him and reject His ways—time after time. How could He possibly DELIGHT in us??? Ah—how magnificent is His love!!! The Bible says that God delights in His children and He blesses those who seek His ways. In Proverbs Chapter 8 “wisdom” is personified and is portrayed as having accompanied God from the foundations of Creation to the present existence of mankind. The “voice” of wisdom said: “When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master workman, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the children of man.” (Prov. 8:27-31) This “person” of wisdom instruct us: “And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.” (Proverbs 8:32-35) God made us in HIS image and when we conform to HIS will, we place ourselves in the favor of His blessings. Then, Our Heavenly Father delights in us because He loves to see us living in the full potential of all He created us to be. Why would we ever want anything less than the delight and favor of God which comes from submitting to the wisdom of His will?
