Do we understand our value? God carefully planned for each of our special and unique lives. He knows each intricate part of our one-in-a-billion, God-patented DNA. There is no one else like us and no one can reproduce us. Because He gave us free will, the beauty and perfection He created in us may also be used for ugliness and sin. He longs to teach us to live as we were designed to live and with the Divine purpose which He planned before we were even born. God said: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” (Jeremiah 1:5) Like an artist envisions a painting before it is created–before we were created–God envisioned the creation of each of us and He also planned each day of our life. The Bible says: “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Ps. 139:16) We are His “workmanship” and He does not create anything but perfection! (Eph. 2:10) When we are IGNORANT of our VALUE to God, we choose to sin and destroy the perfection He created in us. Think about it–would we do anything to devalue or destroy a priceless “Water Lily” painting by Claude Monet? Only an ignorant fool would do that–right? Well, we are a million times more beautiful and valuable to God than a painting! When we get to know God, we begin to understand the perfection and uniqueness He created in us. If we’ve lived our lives scrabbling and scraping for acceptance from others, it is a sure sign that we have not recognized the pricelessness which God attributes to us. He does not want us degrading the perfection of His unique creation–to gain acceptance from imperfect men. As we daily seek HIM, He takes us on a wonderful journey to discover the amazing and unique purpose He has given us. When we know God, WE KNOW our value–and we no longer need to gain the acceptance of men. He loves us just the way He made us!
