If you could possess the greatest power and the richest wisdom in the world—would you? If you are a child of God and your answer is “yes” then think about why you haven’t. My answer is because I’ve not known God well enough to believe that if I ask–He’ll give it. The gifts of God’s power and wisdom are readily accessible to each of His children who know Him and call upon His name! Knowing Him requires we spend time with Him and follow His will. Then, we gain the confidence to ask for power and wisdom—just as Paul did for the Ephesians. He said: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.” (Eph.‬‭1:17-19‬) He spoke with the confidence of one who knows God! As I’ve gotten to know God better, I’ve seen His power and wisdom at work through me. There is nothing quite like the experience of listening to yourself speak words of wisdom that you know are not your own or watching your works be multiplied with power you know exceeds your own! You realize you’re part of something much greater than yourself. Possessing even just a small fraction of God’s wisdom and power places us in a state of magnificent wonder! We cannot possess His power and wisdom unless He possesses our heart.
