The more time we spend with God, the less anxious we become because God is NEVER anxious! There is no burden too big for God. The Bible says: “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22) God’s will is the best cure for stress. When we are close to Him and–problems arise or anxiety begins to set in—our habit becomes to consistently tell ourselves: “God’s got it.” We don’t have to let IT “get us!” Furthermore, the better we know Him, the less we worry about tomorrow. He gives us the wisdom we need for today and the knowledge to plan for tomorrow. When we’re consistently close to God, we sometimes don’t even realize how well He cares for us until the day has passed and He’s already done the heavy lifting. Following God’s wisdom is like flying into clouds equipped with amazing radar and when we burst out into the sunshine–we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be! God is my radar and the more I allow Him to guide me through every situation, the more I experience His trustworthiness. The first time I flew completely by God’s radar instead of by my sight, it was pretty scary; but the more I do it, the easier it gets. I am learning to recognize His voice, His direction is always trustworthy and it’s much safer than living by sight. There’s no doubt that God is worthy to be trusted for each major and minor decision in my life. The only reason I’m ever anxious is when I allow my sin to separate me from the presence of God–and, oh by the way, worrying is a huge sin because it is doubting the very character of God. God loves us more than we comprehend and desires to show us His wondrous works. When we experience His consistent guidance through the clouds and storms, we learn the depth of His care for us. The Bible says, “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6) When we know God, we exchange our anxiety for His extraordinary care. The more often we seek to be as close to God as possible, the less often we’re anxious.
