Our success skyrockets when we learn to be exactly who God created us–rather than trying to be someone else. The Bible says: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:13-14) When we try to conform ourselves to be like someone else, then we never live to the full potential for which God created us. He created us for an Almighty purpose and we can’t know that purpose if we aren’t listening to our Creator. There is such pressure to conform to the standards of others in order to reach our potential, but Psalms says: “Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.” (Psalms 119:73) We must listen to God in order to reach our potential! God used a crazy example to help me see this. I was cleaning out my closet for a garage sale when I found some pants I’ve had for 20 years. Ummmm….they were a size 6 and they had NO spandex in them. I started laughing because–God did not make this tall, not-small-boned, girl–a true size 6! I had been holding onto them for those occasions when I would go on some crazy diet so I could be like a skinny supermodel. In sudden realization that God created me VERY un-rail like–I threw the pants in the discard pile. What a relief! I don’t have to be like someone He didn’t make me to be! We are all different–right down to our fingerprints. Why not just be who He made us? As He continues to teach me how to have the blessing of an intimate relationship with Him, I’m learning that He loves this woman He created. Through His unwavering love to me, God is making me confident with the heart, skin, bones, teeth, hair, talents and etc…which HE has given me! He is giving me balance between the spiritual and the physical. The confidence we gain in being loved by God is amazing! If we gain confidence being associated with a famous singer or athlete– think about how much MORE confidence we can gain being loved by Almighty God! As we get closer to God, He gives us confidence, because He is our Creator and He loves who He made! The Bible says: “But if one loves God truly [with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and he is owned by Him].” (1 Cor. 8:3 Amplified Version) An intimate relationship with God gives us full confidence to gloriously succeed as the unique and wonderful person He created!
