It’s hard to fathom that God does NOT worry, because we often imagine God is like we are, and–we DO worry. Sometimes when we begin worrying, we don’t even know it’s gripping us until we see physical symptoms. I can always tell when I’ve been worrying because I wake up in the morning and my jaws hurt. Guess I’m what you’d call a jaw-clenching worrier. Worry affects people in different ways—hair loss, worry lines, weight loss, weight gain, irritability, depression, anxiety, etc. However, God does not have ANY of these problems, because God does NOT worry. We worry because circumstances or people are not in OUR CONTROL. God is ALL powerful. He commands: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Ps. 46:10) When our HEART is close to Almighty God, we can release our problems to the most powerful One on earth. We have no control over any heart except our own. God has given all people a free will to seek Him or to seek lesser things. We do NOT have ultimate control over circumstances or people; however, we DO have ultimate control over our own heart. Will we keep it close to God? Worry dissipates when we’re close to God because we gain confidence in Him. HE is confident in His Almightiness. He IS UNintimidated by the free will of man or the tragic or unpredictable circumstances which man creates. My “worry-free zone” is the place where I’m so close to Him that I can feel His presence and hear His voice. When I’m close to Almighty God, then it really doesn’t matter what else is going on around me. He’s got it; He’s got me; and–He doesn’t worry—so, neither should I!
