Investing in God’s Word ALWAYS produces a SURE return–for us and for others: “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11) When we plant God’s Word in the FERTILE soil of our heart, we WILL see growth. Purposefully (not casually) investing His Word into our life always produces good things in us. When His Word spills out of us and into others, we needn’t worry if we don’t see sprouts or blooms right away because that’s in God’s hands–and He’s really good at growing things–just look outside the window! We can’t effectively give the seeds of God’s Word to others, unless It’s living and growing inside of us. When God’s Word grows inside of us, it changes us, molds our character and produces God’s love in us. When we are born again, His Spirit comes to live in our heart; and when we read His Word and seek to be close to Him, He transforms us into a testament of His love. The more we seek to be close to Him and strip away what separates us from Him, the more He produces His fruit IN us and then–the more the seeds of His Word flow FROM us in everything we do. Most of the seeds we plant will be in the places where we spend the majority of our time–like work or with those we’re around the most. Sometimes we’ll plant seeds without saying a single word; other times we’ll plant seeds by sharing our testimony, or what God’s doing in our lives, or by writing encouraging words. Not one seed is wasted. Right now, you’re reading the seeds God planted in me. If the soil of your heart is ready, your growth will be magnificent! It’s GOD’S promise!
