Would you like to know the mind of God? When we are born again, our Spirit is made alive and we’re given the amazing ability to communicate with God. We can KNOW Him. Do we know God well enough to know His mind? If not, why not? Do we know what He thinks like we do our closest friend? Does His Word touch us? We may believe in God and even study His Word and gain head-knowledge–but still NEVER know His mind. I was a Christian for years, knew a lot about the Bible, and sadly, never KNEW the MIND of God. I was missing the golden key–loving Him. The Bible says, “Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him’— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:6-10‬) Knowing the MIND of God is reserved ONLY for those who LOVE Him. Even the most brilliant scholar or inventor cannot fathom the depths of the mind of God. However, those who passionately love Him, are given His “secret and hidden wisdom” as revealed through His Spirit. So, how do we love God? Jesus said, “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” (John‬ ‭14:21‬) His love for us inspires our obedience to Him. In love, Jesus submitted Himself to death in order to save us; and when we love Him, we gratefully submit to Him. His love changes us and pleasing Him becomes our greatest desire. When His ways become our ways, we are in sync with the Spirit; and then, the unimaginably rich wisdom of God’s mind is revealed to us! Loving God is the only way we ever know His mind.
