When trouble bears down like a ton of rocks upon my mind and soul, God’s voice is the one I long to hear the most. I must clear my heart of my own way and get alone with Him. His wisdom and power exceeds that of anyone I know. His is the only relationship which offer a place of consistent safety and peace during the course of all types of trials. I run to Him. When I’m close to Him, His wisdom enters my heart, it guards me, and He gives peace to my soul. God’s Word is full of the promises of His peace in trials for those who live close to Him in loving obedience. For example, His Word says: “Jehovah giveth wisdom; Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding: He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to them that walk in integrity; That he may guard the paths of justice, And preserve the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, And equity, yea, every good path. For wisdom shall enter into thy heart, And knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall watch over thee; Understanding shall keep thee.”(Proverbs 2:6-11) In the midst of trials, I shouldn’t frantically try to solve the problems; but rather, I should get closer to God who knows all the answers. Or, when people personally attack me, I should use it as an opportunity to build integrity which places me within God’s shield. In the midst of even multiple battles, God gives us the serenity of His wisdom. When we witness God’s Spirit flowing from us, we realize His way is immeasurably better than ours. When He leads us, we become wise, powerful and loving leaders. His presence allows us to lead by example. The battle is real and the enemy is seeking to rob us of the glorious freedom Christ has given His children. However, in Him, we can live each day victoriously. When we seek God and love Him with all our heart, we willingly follow Him and are filled with His presence. It is only in His presence, we possess His wisdom and peace for every trial.
