I once had an awful nightmare that I had been born in North Korea. How thankful I was to wake up and realize I wasn’t living in a totalitaristic country where people are executed for their convictions! It made me wonder: What will I do today with my glorious freedom in this country where I can do just about anything I want? Will I maximize my talent and live my big dreams? Do I have a greater purpose than that?
After spending all night imprisoned in a nightmare, God kindled a passion in me–to start another American Revolution! But this one won’t be fought with guns. No–there’s a much tougher battlefield–the heart! The enemy is camped within. Our nation is being ripped apart by dissension. Guns and government won’t solve the problems of the heart. It’s up to us. We, as children of God, must begin with our own heart. We must stop fighting amongst ourselves and becoming so entangled in the world that we give others the impression that God is not real. The Bible says, “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John‬ ‭4:8‬) Wow! Do others see God’s love in us? He must be real to us before we can show anyone else that He can be real in them. We must fall on our knees and fall in love with our most loving Father.
Love is the most powerful force on earth–remember, HE defeated death. When God’s love is real to us, it transforms us and gives us the indwelling of the Spirit. His love flows out of us and His sweetness and goodness is the most persuasive force on earth because it changes the heart. No government nor threat of death can change the heart. When we allow God to OWN our heart, we possess the most powerful force in heaven or earth–His love. We can shine His light, dispel the shadows of dissension and reveal the evil which is paralyzing our country. When it belongs to Almighty God, our heart–not our money, brains or power–is our most powerful asset.
