When we are born again, we are adopted by God. The Bible says: “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” (Romans‬ ‭8:15-16‬) Although we are His child, we often choose to live independently of Him. We choose to live outside the home of His heart. Therefore, we struggle with our problems and fears on our own–without His help. However, when our heart is in God’s hands, He takes responsibility for our needs and problems. He is our Father and that’s what fathers do for their children.

When these two little guys were adopted, their parents wasn’t just adopting the love of a child, they were adopting the expenses, training, trouble, tears and all the other emotional and physical price of loving another human. Do we believe that God can handle baggage better than any human parent? Just take a look outside to see His genius at work! The more we give Him our heart, the less trouble we have to handle on our own. Day by day He faithfully demonstrates the wisdom of His ways. Even though problems may lurk on every corner, His wisdom and power illuminates the way for the child who walks close to Him. The more we surrender our heart to Him, the more we SEE Him working, we FEEL His presence, we KNOW His wisdom and we HEAR His voice! There is nothing this world can give us which compares to experiencing a relationship with Our Father. When we commit our heart to Him, He commits His ways to us—it’s the best decision we make each day!
