Christ cut no corners and spared no love to give us Salvation. The integrity of His love is incomprehensible! He left heaven to be born to die for ALL criminals–for ALL have sinned and have trespassed against God’s love. (Romans 3:23) Sin separates us from God. It condemns us to death. We NEED a Savior. He chose to be our Savior. His choice to die gave us the choice to live. At any time, He could have given up. He was a volunteer–not a slave. He stayed on the cross until it was finished. He chose love. He chose separation from His Father so we could be reconciled. “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:18‬) He chose hell so we could have heaven. (Acts 2:31) He believed in us more than we believed in ourselves. He still does. Oh, how these thoughts of His love fill my heart with indescribable thankfulness!

His love teaches us how to love. Christmas is a time to celebrate His love. It’s a time to refresh our spirit of giving and be inspired to live as He did–to give as He gave. His love reminds me that I can give of my talent, time and resources–even in the face of the worst treason–because MY life is proof that even the most desperately wicked heart isn’t outside the reach of His magnificent love. I’ve received more than I can ever repay. When God is real in our hearts then, by His wisdom do we understand and believe this precious promise: “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9) When our heart is filled to overflowing with God’s love, we give magnanimously. We give by faith because we know His love.
