God wants to give us gifts beyond what we could ever imagine. However, one gift is a prerequisite to all the others. The Gift which precedes all of His most precious gifts–is salvation. When we are born again, our soul and spirit receive eternal life; and–our physical existence is given meaning beyond simply existing. How do we find our purpose on earth? Simple–we must seek Our Creator–because He designed our very special purpose.

To seek Him, we must surrender. Surrender means forsaking our own way and seeking His. We must let go of the sin which crucified His Son and cling to the ways of His joy and peace. Then, we begin to draw close to Him and to know Him. As we experience Him, we begin to recognize the immense depth of His love. We find surrender to Him is sweet. Soon, the value of our relationship with Him, exceeds the value of anything else in our life. We experience, as did the Psalmist, that He becomes the strength of our heart. “Whom have I in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” (Psalms 73:25-26)

When God is the strength of our heart–no heartbreak is beyond His healing. The more we strengthen our heart by surrendering to Him, the stronger we become. We are His masterpiece, created in His image and for His Glory and when we are surrendered to Him, we experience the joy of living within our designed purpose! Our heart is the best gift we give God–giving it to Him is the best gift we give ourselves.
