God is the most powerful Friend we have and His Word provides the foundation for living in His power. When emotions and circumstances seek to uproot us and toss us into depression or turmoil, God’s Word is the truth and life which anchors and strengthens us to “run and not grow weary.” (Isaiah 40:31) When the flesh and the world send us into a tailspin, we must remember that it is the “born again” part of us (our spirit and soul) which communicates with God’s Spirit and stabilizes us. Jesus said: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” (John‬ ‭6:63‬)

The flesh is our weakest part of who we are and shouldn’t be what rules the beautiful life God has planned for us!

Life is our most precious tool with which to glorify God. Without it we could not communicate to others. To be wrapped up in depression or turmoil is to waste it. We were created for a higher purpose! We have a choice. The choice to live for our highest purpose begins with TOTAL surrender to God. Then, God’s Spirit flows through us and we are given immense power over our flesh and the world. To have His power, we must study His Word and spend time in His presence. In Him, we find truth which has endured since before the world began.

“Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.” (Psalms 119:89-90)

God’s Word anchors us.

Are we thirsty for God’s Word? When we know Him, we are drawn to His Word. If we are not, we need to examine ourselves. Are we God’s child? If so, are we totally surrendered to Him? When the answer to both of these question is “yes” then we find we fall in love with His Word and can’t get enough! We discover the power of His truth. Truth transforms us. Truth breaks down barriers which cannot be broken by war, wealth, power or politics. God’s truth empowers us to live in triumph!
