The most powerful language we can ever speak is God’s language of love. To speak it–we must know it. To know it–we must know Him. It is His love that changes us from the inside. Furthermore, as much as try to persuade others to love God by begging, guilt tripping or scaring them–it never lasts unless their heart desires Him. They won’t see that God is desirable unless we show them what it looks like.

God becomes our greatest desire when we realize that He is better for us than anything else. When we desire Him, He changes our heart. He does not draw close to a heart that doesn’t want Him–would you? He gives us free will, which includes the choice to love Him. Love doesn’t happen at gunpoint. It happens when we recognize how perfect His goodness is for us. Then, His goodness leads us to turn from our sin and we fall in love with Him. The Bible says: “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? (Romans‬ ‭2:4‬) http://bible.com/1/rom.2.4. When we give Him our heart, His love becomes alive within us.

He makes our heart as alive with love as our body is with breath. We are filled with His Spirit. When we seek God, He promises: “I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.” (‭Ezekiel‬ ‭11‬:‭19‬) God’s love within us makes us alive with His characteristics–like compassion and mercy. This is God’s powerful language and it requires few words; in fact, it speaks louder than words. Love is God’s language. When we desire Him, we learn to speak His language!
