When I was in the disparity of complete worthlessness God showed me my pricelessness. Right before I fell in love with God, I’d been living in a deep valley of shame. All I wanted was for a man to love me for who I was. I was exhausted from trying to be something I wasn’t. I was afraid to come back to God because I figured He was done with me. I was afraid to talk to Christians for fear I’d be judged. But didn’t want to go back to the world because I was tired of being used. I asked myself: “How did a “good Christian woman” end up like this?

I was in the mess because I’d never attempted to know God as my best friend! I’d lived a fake “Christian” life. I went to church, said plastic prayers, gave an obligatory tithe, sang in choir, taught my children the Bible–and along the way–abandoned my relationship with Him. It was like a stale marriage. My hypocrisy left me completely unsatisfied and drove me to seek fulfillment from the world. There, crushed by sin, is where God found me. Charles Spurgeon said: “Great thoughts of your sin alone will lead you to despair, but great thoughts of Christ will pilot you into a haven of peace. As the weight of my sin presses down on me like a giant’s foot would crush a worm, but oh, it is but a grain of dust to Him because He has borne that sin on the cross.” This is so true!

When I was crushed by a feeling of worthlessness, God drew me with His priceless love. His Word says: “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans‬ ‭5:6-8) http://bible.com/59/rom.5.6-8.esv Wow! Christ died for me–the sinner! Why wouldn’t I want to seek to know my greatest Hero? Exactly! Now, as I passionately seek to know Him, I more and more find my identity in Him. I have found my truest love and He makes my life priceless!
