As much as I try to persuade others of God’s goodness so they may fall in love with God; love is a choice. No amount of persuasion will change a heart that doesn’t wish to love, or be loved, by God. He gives us each a choice to choose His goodness and His love! God said: “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:19-20a)‬ http://bible.com/59/deu.30.19-20.esv.

Absent the presence of God, we will never experience life as He intended and–without Him–we will never experience LOVE as He intended. I have never experienced love like His! He loved me long before I acknowledged His love, but I was too blind to see it. I chose to pursue the acceptance and love of man instead of the love of God. I traded the very essence of who God made me in exchange for things that would never bring me joy. The things I loved did not love me back. And, instead of seeking to love people, I sought to be loved. I didn’t understand love.

We are created in God’s image, to love Him above all else, and to find our completeness in Him. Although we are designed to love Him, He doesn’t demand our love because then, it would no longer be love. When we seek God with a completely open heart, we discover His extraordinary love. When we’re in love with Him, we feel peace, security, joy, fulfillment, amazement, and such a sense of wonder that it seems too good to be true! His love floods our heart, overflows, and pours into the lives of others. We expect nothing from them because we already have everything in Him. When we talk with Him, walk with Him and seek to be in the center of His will, our heart is opened to experience His perfect love!‬‬‬
