When we understand our value to God, we begin to live for a Divine purpose. Do we comprehend our value to God and that He has a wildly wonderful plan for each of us? God told Jeremiah the Prophet: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” ‭(Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬) http://bible.com/59/jer.1.5.esv. King David knew this to be true as well: “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” (Psalms 139:16) God’s Word tells us we are His “workmanship.” (Ephesians 2:10) God doesn’t create anything but perfection!

God gave us free will, thus, we often choose the ugliness of sin to destroy the beauty and perfection He created within us. This isn’t His vision for us. He desires to fill us with His glory. Think about it–would we do anything to devalue or destroy the priceless “Water Lily” painted by Claude Monet? Only an ignorant fool would do that–right? Well, we are a million times more beautiful and valuable to God than a painting! When we get to know God, He reveals the perfection and uniqueness He created within us. If we’ve lived our lives scrabbling and scraping for acceptance from others, it is a sure sign that we don’t recognize our pricelessness to God. He didn’t create us to degrade the perfection of His image in order to gain acceptance from the sinful world.

As we daily seek God, we begin to realize our extraordinary value to Him. We discover who we are in a way that is much like who we were when we were still innocent children and believed that all things were possible. We begin to live with a Divine purpose that exceeds our greatest expectation of imagination. When we know God, WE KNOW our value and we begin living an invaluable life!
