Living in God’s will, we recieve the empowerment to know everything we should do and say. God knows what we need, what others need, when things should happen, what is in the heart of others, what others need to hear, etc. When we listen–He shares this knowledge with us!

When we’re close to God and live His way, we engage the power of His Spirit. Paul the Apostle said: “And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. My speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:1, 4-5‬) http://bible.com/59/1co.2.1,4-5.esv. It isn’t our insight or wisdom which empower us to effectively communicate God’s gifts to the lost and hurting world; rather, it is the work of His Spirit. Without Him, our words and actions have little effect. Without Him, we have little of nothing to give anyone!

I can’t begin to tell you the number of times I’ve sat in my office with a client and God has prompted me to say something and–as I open up my mouth to speak–His words pour out! It’s a surreal experience to watch His Spirit evoke a powerful heart-response in someone! It’s always clear from their reaction, that God knew exactly what they needed to hear! He knows the condition of every heart. When we’re close to Him we live in the “demonstration of the Spirit and of power” referenced in 1 Corinthians 2. Anyone who is close to God will be empowered by Him! The more time we spend with Him, the better we know Him and then–the more we see His Spirit work through us!
