I’m not good at waiting for what I want, and when I don’t get it right away–I usually just work harder to try to get it. I scramble, sweat and fret instead of trusting God and asking Him to channel my hard work and energy in the right direction. While there’s nothing wrong with working hard to attain goals; our hard work is multiplied by the wisdom of God’s ways when we allow Him to set our goals and we follow His way to achieve them. God never fails to accomplish His purpose. When we allow Him–He writes our history!

The more we seek Him, the more He builds a history which serves as a constant reminder of the wisdom of trusting in Him. The Bible says: “But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.” (Psalms‬ ‭71:14-15‬) When I begin to realize that God’s history of achievements in my life is a number which is far “past my knowledge,” I desire His way more than mine. The more I seek Him, the more I want to experience Him. I learn He is more dependable than anyone else! His Word says: “And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” (Psalm 9:10) When we are with God, we are unbreakable!

When we don’t get what we want or even when we lose what is precious to us–we must draw close to God. He knows the big picture. He has a magnificent plan. The solution to my every problem and the fulfillment of my every desire begins first thing in the morning in my quiet time with God. He fills my heart with strength and peace from His Word. He replaces all of the empty spaces in my heart with Himself and my every desire is fulfilled in Him!
