Do you ever wonder why squirrels and birds don’t need stress centers, alcohol, drugs or weight loss programs? I love to hear the early morning singing of the birds and watch the squirrels scamper about their business. They do exactly what God created them to do. They’re not abusing their bodies with stress, overeating, overworking, laziness, drugs, etc. They teach us how God created us to live.

The Bible says: “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind. Does not the ear test words as the palate tastes food? Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days. “With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.” (Job‬ ‭12:7-13)‬‬  The creatures which we classify as less intelligent than man, understand what men struggle to grasp—that is, how to trust God–FOR EVERYTHING!

When we learn to trust God we become balanced. We stay busy. We aren’t bored. We aren’t looking for fulfillment in a bar of dark chocolate, a bottle, a pill, our work, our workout, our looks, or other people. We live in the confidence that we belong to Him and–He takes care of us. When we KNOW Him, we trust Him enough to seek Him for EVERYTHING! When we are struggling with anything–we learn to turn to our Father. He is ALWAYS the answer. His way is always better than ours. He loves us more than the birds and squirrels–His Son’s death is the proof. The squirrels don’t worry. We should learn a lesson from them. We were created in God’s image and are given a magnificent purpose. Choose to find it. Know Him.
