If the greatest love of your life asked you to dance, would you accept the invitation and then–dance with all your heart?* Or, would you casually pass it up? God is the greatest love of our life, and He invites us to live our life in His dance of love. In His dance, we are taught to live in the love that the Father, Son and Spirit have for each other. We learn to move with the grace of the Spirit, love like the Son, and speak with the wisdom of our Father. When we place our heart in God’s hands, we join the dance of triune God! We learn to live in the essence of God.
God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three persons in one. Triune God has existed in this perfect relationship with one another since before time began. Thus, love existed before our creation. They each adore, serve and glorify each other in a dance of love so perfect that humans rarely experience it. God created us and He invites us to join their dance. How do we do that? We must adore God so much that we submit to Him the way that the Father, Son and Spirit submit to each other. When we love God, we aren’t afraid to join the dance. When we allow Him to take us by the hand and lead us, His love becomes more than a fairy tale–it becomes our reality.
Paul the Apostle wrote: “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:14-19) http://bible.com/59/eph.3.14-19.esv. God’s love is unsurpassed. It’s worth yielding to. Surrender is not a sacrifice when it gives us something better than we had before we surrendered. God invites us to dance so we may know the breadth, length, height and depths of His love!
