Do we believe that God’s plan for us is always perfect? If so, then why don’t we spend time with Him first thing in the morning? When we do, He begins to lead us in His plan for the day. We are freed from the anxiety of living in our own plans. We watch Him bless what we do in ways we never imagined. He tells us when to pursue a dream and when to stop; when to reach out in love and when to walk away; when to fight and when to run; when to speak and when to be silent, etc. At the end of each day…there is no disappointment if we’ve failed to accomplish our plans because our joy is completed by living in His. He knows us better than we know ourselves. The best plan we can have for today–is to live in God’s plan! seek it? Or, if we don’t believe God’s plan for us is perfect–why not? Let’s address the second question first. Do we ever deliberately plan pain or unhappiness for ourselves? Of course not! So, why would believe that God, who sacrificed His only Son for us, would plan anything but the very best for us? Exactly. Jesus didn’t die to make us miserable. He died to invite us to live in His joy! If we believe He wants to give us the joy of His plan then WHY don’t we seek it?

We all seek what we believe is good. If we truly believe that God is good–He is the best–we passionately seek Him with all our heart. What do we think is so much better than Him that we spend everyday focused upon it instead of what God has planned? God has a plan for everything we do–work, family, friends and even leisure. He wants us to delight in Him and the life He’s given us! The Book of Psalms says: “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” (‭Psalms‬ ‭37:4-5‬) http://bible.com/59/psa.37.4-5.esv Isn’t this verse an amazing gem? If we want the deepest desires God planted within us, we must learn to delight in Him!

When we spend time with Him first thing in the morning, He begins to lead us in His plan for our day. He frees us from the anxiety of living in our own plan. We watch Him bless what we do in ways we never imagined. He tells us when to pursue a dream and when to stop; when to reach out in love and when to walk away; when to speak and when to be silent, etc. Then, before we know it the day is over and we realize we’ve been on an unexpectedly wonderful adventure! God knows the desires of our heart better than we know them ourselves. Our best plan for today–is to live in God’s plan!
