The closer we are to God, the more we hear Him–even before we pray. He created us to be close to Him and He desires to guide us in His loving goodness, unparalleled wisdom and magnificent power. Furthermore, friendship with Him, makes whatever we do without Him–completely dissatisfying. Straying from His presence is like going back to a prison of ignorance, emptiness, darkness and sadness. Our Father knows more than we do. He has the solution to every problem. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! To hear God’s guidance we must learn to live with Him as our center.

Having God as our center means we allow His Spirit to have free reign in our life. We understand the wisdom of completely centering our life around God–so we do it! We begin and end our day with Him. We daily study His Word. Throughout each day we are mindful of His presence. During each day, we often ask Him: “What’s next, Lord?” While we converse with others, we are consciously tuned into Him so we can give them His wisdom. We experience what the Bible says, about having the mind of Christ: “Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. ‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.’” (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:6-7, 12, 16‬)

Just as we cannot know the thoughts of another unless we know them; we cannot know the thoughts of God unless we know Him. We must love Him so much that we long to always be close to Him. Jesus said we could live as one with Him: “The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one.” (John 17:22) When we live as one with God, HE is our amazing gift to others!
