Jesus said He came to give us—not just life—but ABUNDANT life. He said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John‬ ‭10:10‬) http://bible.com/1/jhn.10.10.kjv Different translations of the Bible describe this in different degrees. For example: life “better life than they ever dreamed of” (Message) and life “till it overflows.” (Amplified) Is this how you would describe your life? I think we often measure the abundance of our life by the things we accumulate and accomplish, the praise we garner, the number of friends we have, or the family which surrounds us. However, if this were God’s definition of the abundant life, then people like Paul the Apostle never possessed it! Abundance begins with God because He is the Father of every blessing.

Because He is the vine and we are the branches, it’s not possible for us to produce fruit without being attached to Him. (John 15:5) Our abundance comes from Him. What does this look like? Well, we discover the deeper meaning of love as His love flows through us and into others; we operate on His plane of reality as His wisdom and strength flow through us; we experience the freedom of living outside the box instead of inside the pressure cooker; we watch Him perform the miraculous balance of meeting our physical needs while utilizing our spiritual gifts; we rejoice in living for a greater purpose than self and, we transform into the unique and marvelous person He created us to be! YES–in Him, we learn what it means to “live abundantly!”

Once I experienced life that was “better than I dreamed of,” I never wanted to live any other way! The more I am WITH God, the more I never want to be WITHOUT Him! I’ve never had more joy than I do now, thus, I begin each day WITH Him. We each have an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY to be close to Almighty God. We can CHOOSE to walk close to Him and–when we do–we discover our abundant life begins!
