How would you like to be anchored in the confidence of being unconditionally LOVED by someone who KNOWS everything about you? After 1 Corinthians 13 lists the qualities of love, it says: “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:12‬) Much like children who don’t fully comprehend their parent’s love until they become adults–we will never fully understand God’s love until we get to heaven. However, we are “fully known” by God RIGHT NOW. He loves us–warts and all! The more we get to know Him, the more we KNOW of His love for us. Knowing His love gives us transforming confidence.

The more we know the love God has for us, the more we have the confidence to love others without pretense or expectation. The knowledge of God’s love towards us fortifies our heart against known and unknown hurts. Even when we have difficulty loving ourselves because of our failures, we can do so with confidence because the knowledge of God’s love for us affirms our worth. After all, if the Almighty Creator loves us, why shouldn’t we also love ourselves? He knows our weaknesses even better than we do. Furthermore, the more we realize how much God fully knows us and truly loves us, the more that we can “love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)

Through a daily relationship with God, His love begins to penetrate every aspect of our life. His love expels our great fear of rejection, it bestows humility in our interactions with others and it grants us unimaginable courage to love in impossible situations. When we seek to know the heart of God through reading and meditating upon His Word and talking with Him–we are filled with the knowledge of His unconditional love. Knowing His love, eclipses every other experience we’ve ever known. Knowing His love begins with knowing Him–when we know Him, we begin to know how much He knows and loves us! His love captivates our heart!
