What kind of lasting impression do we want to make on the world? Most of us want to impress others with ourselves. We want to be honored, popular, beautiful, successful and admired. Everyone makes some kind of impression. The Bible says, “For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.” (Romans 14:7) We may think that we can simply be a neutral influence, however, we are either for God or against Him. When it comes to good and evil–there is no in-between. We were created for God’s glory and if we’re not glorifying Him then we are wasting our God-given gifts. If our life is about us, then it’s NOT about Him. Think about yesterday—were the people we interacted with impressed with God? Or–were you trying to impress them with your accomplishments, looks, brains or your stuff? What impression did your interactions create?

God has graciously given us a higher purpose than glorifying ourselves! His Word says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬) http://bible.com/59/eph.2.10.esv When we become children who PURSUE our Heavenly Father, then–His goals for us, become our goals for ourselves. When we love Him with all our heart, He teaches us to love ourselves and love others. Then–He completely changes our interactions with others because our life is no longer about ourselves. We become the embodiment of His love and draw others to eternal God. We become a walking and talking window to His heart. They don’t see us—they see HIM. The deep desire of our heart becomes for our life impress others with God. When it is, we leave a beautiful impression which will be remembered long after we are forgotten!
