When we’re people pleasers, we are trying to give people “us” instead of “God” and there’s never enough of “us” to satisfy anyone! There’s not even enough of “us” to satisfy ourselves. Only God completely satisfies. The only lasting pleasure we can give to others is to point them to God. However, we can’t teach others how to be satisfied with God if we aren’t satisfied with Him ourselves!

When we are satisfied by God, we don’t value money, possessions, position, family, goals, etc., above the peace that comes from our relationship with Him. When we fall in love with Him, He satisfies us and He changes us because we desire to please Him above all else. We become “God pleasers.” These beautiful words in Isaiah become our own prayer of praise: “The path of the righteous is level; you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth. Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.” (Isaiah‬ ‭26:7-9, 12‬)

When we’re in love with God, we desire to please HIM more than ourselves or anyone else. When we’re in love with God people SEE our satisfaction in Him. Does your life reflect the total satisfaction of His presence? If not, today, begin the journey to find your satisfaction in Him! To find complete satisfaction, you must forsake all that separates you from Him and seek to know Him. When we live in God’s presence, we don’t need to try please people because the complete satisfaction we have in Him naturally draws them to HIM!
