Are we chasing a dream which makes us anxious? God does not want us to live in anxiety. Jesus said: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing…But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! (Luke 12:22-23, 28) He cares about the grass and the birds, and we somehow don’t think He cares about the desires of our heart?

If we don’t believe He cares about us, then we just don’t know Him very well. When we seek Him, He’s faithful to lead us. He gives us bigger dreams. He prepares us for the greatness He has planned. If dreams or goals are causing us anxiety, then they are likely ones which exclude God. They’re likely short sighted in the vast span of eternity. We need to allow God to give us His perspective. He doesn’t want us to throw our life away on things that don’t matter. He has a plan.

When we allow Him to guide us, He gives us profound and eternal purpose. When we operate in His strength, we maximize our eternal potential because we aren’t weighed down by the things which pass away! God’s not weighed down by circumstances. His Word says: “Alas, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! There is nothing too hard or too wonderful for You.” (Jeremiah 32:17) When we give our dreams and goals to God, He gives us peace and greater accomplishments than we’ve ever imagined! His goals for us never cause us anxiety because He is never anxious!
