Have you ever lavished love on someone, only to have it repeatedly rejected? Well, God doesn’t reject our love. In fact, in our love story with God–He made the first move! “We love because he first loved us.” (1 John‬ ‭4:19‬) Wow! God, Who is the greatest Lover of our heart, loved us before we even thought about loving Him! Have we chosen to experience His magnificent love? Or–have WE rejected HIM?

We are often deluded by the thought that our choice to be independent from Him holds more promise for us than living in His loving care. Independence from God is the original sin that separated mankind from God way back in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1-6) When we choose sin, we reject God’s love. How foolish to choose what hurts us instead of He Who loves us! God is our most faithful love: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” (Jeremiah‬ ‭31:3‬)

When we seek God with all our heart, He fills us with love we are incapable of comprehending without His presence. (Ephesians 3:18-19)

He is God; He is love.

When we love Him, He gives us more than anyone else who has ever loved us. He also gives us more than anyone else we’ve ever loved. Once we’ve experienced His love, we never want to go back to not loving Him. The piercing pain of having our love rejected is something we never have to worry about with God. There is no fear in loving Him. His love is perfect. When we experience His love, we learn how to truly love others. We have no expectation from them. We want them to know the same love we do. When we pursue God with the trusting abandon of a child–we find love which exists far beyond our richest imagination. God holds the key to our heart.
