How mundane life would be if every tree was identical and every sunrise reflected through the exact same cloud pattern. God made us unique and He loves every part—every unique quirk and even the parts we believe are flawed. The variety God created in each of us, provides endless opportunities for a satisfying and creative life. More importantly, it provides an incredibly broad spectrum of ways to glorify Him. God makes us interesting. He also keeps our life interesting. What if each day were the same? He created us with a spirit of adventure and discovery.

So, why do we spend our life trying to be like and look like—everyone else? Furthermore, why do we strive so hard to eliminate the adventure and trade it for security? God is our greatest security! He loves us so much that He gives us everything: “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

We shouldn’t be focused upon our self-perceived imperfections or live in constant dissatisfaction with how He made us. When we know Him, we discover the beauty and perfection He created in us. Then, we begin to live the amazing life He planned for us. We stop trying to be someone we’re not and also stop trying to live someone else’s life. Instead, we gratefully give our life back to the God who gave His Son’s life for us.

When we give our life to Him, He gives us the life we were intended to live. Humanity fell in the garden and was redeemed on the cross. Humanity is scarred by sin, but the repentant soul is healed. Do we think that the Healer doesn’t love our entire being—including our scarred imperfections? When we realize how much God loves us, then we allow Him to weave a masterpiece of glory from our scars, limitations and imperfections. He created us to be a masterpiece, not an imitation!

Living close to Him takes us on a fascinating journey!
