Early one morning I was talking to God on my back porch when the wind blew the moisture from the misty rain in and it lightly caressed my face. It was exhilarating and refreshing. The sensation reminded me of God’s presence in my life. He is alive and He moves inside of me. God lives and moves inside anyone who seeks Him. His Word says, “they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for in him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts‬ ‭17:27-28‬a)

God is not a stone or gold statue hanging on a cross. He is the provider of everything which makes life marvelous—feeling love, comfort, peace, joy, strength—and He wants us to have it all! He gives us both the strength and love of a father and the tenderness of a mother. His Word says: “I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me;” (2 Corinthians 6:18) and “as one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.” (Isaiah 66:13a) God is our Father and when we allow Him to care for us, He fills us with His presence! Have you ever met anyone so full of God that when you’re around them you know you’ve seen Him?

Are you that person?

The closer we get to God, the more people can see Him in us. We become like the wind carrying the refreshing mist of His love to caress the sin-blistered souls of men. When we’re close to God, others can look in our eyes and see Him. There is no greater compliment than to hear someone say, “I see something different in you;” and to be able to reply, “Yes, that is Jesus.” When He is real to us, we are transformed. How could we not be? He is the Almighty Creator. He is love. When we know Him, He is the strongest influence in our life and He changes us. We don’t ever want to be who we were without Him. When we seek Him and tear down the walls of sin, the metamorphosis within us is as evident as a butterfly set free from the cocoon!
