Do we place our faith in anything less than God? We may say we don’t, but our daily decisions reflect whether we place our faith more in God, or in money, possessions, positions or government, family or ourselves. For example, are our career choices primarily based upon salary? Is our choice for a mate based upon the person who offers us the most security? Is our decision to utilize resources based upon what pays the highest return? Do we invest our time primarily in people who will help us succeed?

When we walk by faith, “God” replaces “us.” It’s not nearly as risky as living by faith in anything less than Him. To live by faith in God, we must know Him. When we know Him, we hear His voice and we see that His ways are much better than ours. The Bible says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-11‬) Complete faith in God is the greatest investment of faith we’ll ever make.

God is worthy of our greatest faith.

Without Him—we are short-sighted. When we follow Him, we’re walking with someone who has already seen the future. He places His vision in our heart. We don’t need to know “why” because we know God knows. He’s already been around the next corner. When we experience the wisdom and miracles of His presence, we know that faith in anything less than Him is a scary proposition. Faith in anything less than God is risky business!
