Do we live each day actively sharing the immense treasure which resides inside us?

When we are born again, God irreversibly embeds His pricelessness in our soul and spirit. He endows us with the potential to multiply His treasure. However, we often slog through each day without utilizing His priceless gifts. Rather, we live to survive and invest most of our time and energy into gathering and building the things which pass away. Or, we spend the majority of our time polishing or repairing the weak, frail, earthen vessel of our body.

Consequently, we choose to leave the gems hidden inside us—unused and unshared.

The Bible says, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:7‬) Our frail body houses the treasures of our soul and spirit so that our omnipotent God may be glorified. God’s strength is perfected in our weakness, so why then, would we spend most of our time strengthening the part of us which passes away? Think about yesterday. How much of the day was invested in what is physical instead of what is eternal?

When we allow ourselves to live frivolously, ungratefully, mundanely, fearfully, and sadly, it’s only because we’ve lost sight of the incredible treasure God has given us. However, when we are constantly aware of the priceless treasure within us, then sharing it is integral to every part of our life. Everywhere we go and everything we do reflects the passionate love of Christ. When we’re in Him, we can’t hide Him. He is the treasure within us. The closer we walk with Him, the greater His eternal light shines through us. Whether we’re at work, school, home, or on vacation—we carry the treasures of His Spirit.
