Have you ever wondered if your life really matters? Do you sometimes wonder what, if anything, you’ll be remembered for when you’re gone? Most of us think in terms of being remembered by our accomplishments. We believe that to have a significant life, we must be someone like Jesse Owens, Whitney Houston, Bill Gates, or President George Washington. Certainly, our culture encourages us to spend the majority of our resources striving for our own recognition. However…

God has given us a priceless gift—to live for His eternal glory.

This earthly persona, which we often strive our entire lifetime to make significant—rarely lasts even a century. God is eternal! He gives us the opportunity to live for something that lasts longer than our body! His Word encourages us to set our vision on the eternal. “We look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬) We are encouraged to live in enthusiastic hope for the unimaginable blessings God has planned for us in eternity!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4)

If the Creator believed us significant enough to give His life so that we might receive the richness of Heaven—we are indeed, significant. When we grasp this truth, it changes our life. No longer are we fulfilled by striving after worldly accomplishments because we have tasted the goodness of Heaven. We learn to find our greatest significance in Christ.

There is no one more significant than Him!
