The Simultaneous Growth Of Good And Evil
When we keep our mind stayed on Christ, we live as light and goodness in this world of darkness. ~KFaith
God doesn’t give us His wisdom so we can keep it to ourselves. We can’t believe that God wants us to live in the laboratory of Biblical academia when we possess the cure for the ravages of sin—right?!? Jesus set the standard. He lived amongst the spiritually sick and dead. He lived His life—at their tables, in their streets and upon their hillsides. He didn’t waste away on the comfort of His couch watching T.V. because—He didn’t have a couch. He didn’t even own a home.
He challenged His followers to live full throttle for His Divine purpose. When a scribe came to Jesus and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go;” Jesus responded, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” (Matthew 8:19-20) Wow! The scribe had likely spent his life in the soft, academic world and Jesus challenged him to come out into the street. That’s where He was—ministering to the sick and dying. He wasn’t busy building castles in the sand—He was laying the Cornerstone for an eternal fortress. Jesus said “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24)
Our fleeting, mortal life becomes eternally meaningful. We may think our Biblical knowledge is significant, but the truth is that we don’t possess God’s wisdom if we aren’t doing anything with it. God’s wisdom produces action—His action. “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” (James 3:17) We possess the fullness of God’s wisdom when He possesses our life and our life produces His fruit!
