If you knew someone who was perfect and supremely powerful—would you pursue a relationship with him? What if this incredible guy offered to spend his valuable time to teach you the secrets to his knowledge and power—would you jump at the chance? Take it a step further—what if, when you met this guy, you were a convicted criminal and you found out that this powerful guy had sacrificed his son for your crimes so you could have the freedom to get to know him? Would it blow your mind? It should. God is the only one who cared enough for us to do all this. Do we want Him as much as He has proven He wants us? Do we think we’ll find something better in the sin-corrupted world or from people who have the same struggles we do?

Wisdom, power, perfection and love—isn’t that what we all want? Is there anyone except God who can give it all to us? The Psalmist experienced the power and perfection of God’s ways. He described it and God included it in His Word for us to read: “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.” (Psalms‬ ‭18:30-32‬)

Will God really make our way perfect in this crazy, sin-infested, and broken world?

You bet He will! He didn’t sacrifice His Son to make us miserable failures. He gave us a choice. The bridge to Him was built with the life of His Son. When we accept the gift of salvation, He frees us from prison and we take the first step across that bridge. If we pursue our own way, we cling to the prison we came from. When we daily surrender to God, He makes our way perfect. We needn’t worry about the size of the mess because His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
