Have you ever had something so good that you could never get enough? Of all the good experiences in my life—knowing God is the best. The more I know Him, the more I want to know Him. I can’t describe this insatiable desire for Him any better than the Psalmist: “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God…For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!” (Psalms 84:1-2, 10-12)

God redefines goodness on a level we’ve never imagined.

When His goodness permeates every aspect of our life, we fall absolutely and totally in love with Him. His goodness to us makes us marvel at the privilege of being His child. A day without Him is like a day without water. Yes, as I type these words, my heart feels as if it will burst because of His goodness to this unworthy girl. I am nothing but a small fleck of paint in the immense tapestry of humanity; yet, the Creator of all is my best friend! He fills me with far more contentment than anything or anyone in the world. When life gets scary He takes away my fear. When I’m close to Him, my only fear is to be without Him. After I was born again and He placed His love inside me, I chased everything else. His goodness turned me around. Now I never want to go back to lesser things. There is no greater way to get more of His goodness than to be close to Him!
