As I plan my most important goals and dreams, I must be objective enough to consider the possibility that any one of them may not be what God has planned for me. Why does that matter? He has the best plans for my future! Therefore, if I listen to Him, I never miss any of His blessings. This thought has revolutionized my own goals. Because I’ve experienced living in God’s goals, I now rarely cling in desperation to any of my own.

When my primary goal is to glorify God, He orchestrates a wild and melodic symphony. The first note begins to play at the beginning of each day when I spend time seeking Him. I confess my trespasses against His love. I seek to know Him more than I did the day before—I listen for His guidance. Become filled with the peace of His presence. It is the best hour of my day. It is when the symphony begins. As I walk out into the dark world, I take the light of His music with me. God’s presence sings through the cold silence and into the ears of those desperate for hope. His music proclaims life. His music refreshes. At the end of the day as the final notes play, my heart is complete in Him. This is “living the dream” that God has planned.

This is the life He intends for each of His children! Even if trouble, pain or death are part of our day—when we’re in Him—they don’t disrupt our peace; rather, they just change the melody of the symphony. God’s Word says: “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” (Proverbs 19:23) The strength of God’s presence keeps trouble on the doorstep of our heart and it’s not allowed to come in and rob us of His peace. God’s plans never fail: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)

In His plan we discover the magical music He created within us!
