Before God can maximize our talents, our hearts must be humble enough to live in His will. For example, if we have musical talent, then it should be a precious testament of His love, power and glory instead of showcasing OUR talent. We must realize that anything we create using that talent is not possible without God. Having talent isn’t the primary requirement—it’s being a person after God’s heart—because then we are free from pride and become part of a miracle.

When David was selected as king of God’s chosen people, he was chosen primarily because he was a man after God’s heart. “…He raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’” (Acts‬ 13‬:22‬) David was a young shepherd boy who had chosen to “do all [God’s] will” and—miracle of miracles—God chose him to be one of the greatest kings of His chosen nation! Sure, David had lion-slaying skills and musical skills—but that wasn’t God’s criteria.

God’s criteria for creating OUR greatest accomplishment is making HIM the treasure of our hearts. ‬‬‬‬‬‬

We must choose the treasure of our hearts. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew‬ 6‬:21‬) I am not a writer and thus, the miracle of the creation of this book is clear. Thus, I want for others to be able to read these words years after I’m gone and know what a miracle looks like for one who surrenders to God! These devotions remind me of His perfection in my surrender! There are few greater treasures than to see God perfect our weakness and make greatness!! That great treasure begins with surrender to God’s perfection—to do all of God’s will.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
