God periodically reminds me to stop worrying about the future and enjoy the present.

Not that we shouldn’t plan responsibly for our basic needs; however, should we make choices primarily based upon our plan for our future rather than primarily enjoying each moment in God’s plan? How easy it is to freak out and worry about the future of our careers, relationships, finances, loved ones—or even something as trivial as what we are going to eat. The solution is to simply seek to be in the center of His will. If we are going to worry, we should worry about accomplishing that! Quit worrying about the things that might happen someday and start living today in the peace of God’s way TODAY, because only HE knows whether we have tomorrow.

I find that when I spend an inordinate amount of time contemplating the future, I struggle to enjoy the gift of the present. All the planning, hoping or worrying about what tomorrow holds cannot hold a candle to the gift of the present moment with The Great “I AM.” (Exodus 3:14) It is a profound thought that God’s name is in the eternal present tense and that He continually holds our time in His powerful and loving hands: “You are my God. My times are in your hand…” (Psalms 31‬:14-15)

‬‬‬Jesus said His Father’s hands are so powerful that no one can “snatch” us away!

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” (John‬ 10‬:29‬) God is everlasting and omniscient and He knows the answers about our tomorrows and has the strength to take us exactly where we need to go into the future! “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.” (Isaiah 40‬:28) Savor the moments of today, living in the peace that passes understanding in the center of the will of Almighty God! ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
