When my greatest hope is in God, none of my inadequacies matter, nor am I afraid or devoid of peace.

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 15:13) Hope is like a golden and unbreakable cord connecting me to Heaven! It is something strong and beautiful because it comes from God. When I place my hope in myself, it is like relying upon the strength of a cobweb. Inevitably, the frailty in placing hope in my strength leads to disappointment and failure.

Hoping in God grows As we grow in knowledge and relationship with Him. As they grow, we also realize how helpless we are and we develop a greater dependence on His perfect love and almighty power. So, when I become overwhelmed by all of my tough problems, I am reminded that while I am inadequate, He is my ever present help. He will guide me and give me the wisdom sufficient for the day—for His glory!

God gives us the golden cord of Hope! I’ve seen Him do it—day after day! As long as I am doing His will and trusting in Him, I don’t need to worry about the future. I only need to stay close to Him and trust Him to lead me. He is constantly faithful and is the One Who loves me the most; therefore, I will trust Him. What a joyful and peaceful way to start the day!
