Storms can make us cowards or make us courageous. Do the storms of life’s adversity keep me up at night and rob me of joy during the day? Do I worry, fear, or have uncertainty about what’s in my future?  It is tough to train myself  to have peace in the middle of the storm and not let it paralyze me with fear. BUT—the closer I am to God, the smaller the storm appears.

The more storms that I weather, the more I learn about God’s power.

The Bible says: “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7) Every storm is small compared to God. The storms give me an opportunity to give God glory. The storm can develop me into someone better than I was before the storm hit!

Weathering the storms of divorce, death, heartbreak, failure, and financial crises have also given me experience to help others weather the same storms. The storms are making me who GOD wants me to be. So when the storms hit—and they will—we can smile at the storm because our God is big, and He is going to use each nasty storm to continue to mold us into a mighty warrior for His glory!  We were created for His magnificent glory!
